Entries for MICK and JOAN ROBINSON's Memorial
27th July 2002 - David Schofield
Mick was the best Uncle any one could have - we lived in the same street as I was growing up and 'Uncle Mick' was always around with a happy smile and a word of encouragement - especially when things were not too good. For him things were never too difficult. People like him do not come along too often and when they do we are the better for their contact. I miss him.

My mum and dad, Colin and Val Goodall have known Mick for years and I have grown up with him as well. He was a lovely man and the picture of him is superb, he was a cheeky chap who loved his whiskey and I loved the way he had a friendly banter with my mum and dad on a Friday night at the loan club. I will miss him and so will my family. What a lovely page to have to remember him. Well done!

My Dad was born in the same village in Co. Durham as Mick and they used to have a lot of chats about the old times. My Dad also new Charlie, his brother, and attended his funeral as well. Our family all miss Mick very much. We were all fond of him. My Dad was especially pleased to talk to his sister at his funeral.
I have enjoyed very much looking through your website

I will always remember Mick for his whistle when he went off to work in the morning, his laughs with my grandad and the friendly banter that went on between them. Will always remember him going out on his bike, but one thing I will always remember is that after my nan & grandad moved to Eastleigh to live nearer to us they never lost touch and would regularly phone and write. Mick also made the long journey down to Eastleigh to visit my nan & grandad a couple of times which was greatly appreciated.
Sadly both my nan & grandad past away, Joan and Mick came to both funerals to pay there respects and Mick drank all my whiskey.

What a lovely website and great idea in celebrating Mick's life. I'm 25 now and a member of the club. My fondest memory is of Mick dressing up a Santa at the Kiddies Xmas party. I recall sitting on his knee when I was about 10 ish and wispering in his ear "your not santa your micky robbo". He chuckled and said "I sure am but do not let on to the other kids".

I have just been looking at your website, it is a marvellous tribute to your Mum and Dad. Just looking at the photos brought back so many memories of your Dad and his wonderful dry sense of humour. He was always a very good and kind friend to all who knew him and especially so to my Mum and Dad, or Mac as he called him. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share these memories with you. All the very best,
